About us

The Creation of BHS Cultural Society

Brummana High School is a school with a tradition. It was founded in 1875 and owned by the Friends Service Council in London and operated through its local Management Committee.

In 1975, the outbreak of the Civil War in Lebanon caused many of the school's boarders, staff, and day students to leave.

In 1985, the Society of Friends fully withdrew from the school's operation, transferring responsibilities to the Brummana High School Cultural Society, comprised of former B.H.S. scholars. Since then, the B.H.S-C.S. has independently managed the school. After fulfilling its mission in 1998, the B.H.S-C.S. returned the administration to the New Board on July 1st, 1998.

Vision

As custodian of Brummana High School, the B.H.S. Cultural Society shall create optimal conditions for its students for moral, educational and cultural growth and achievement, in line with the century old B.H.S. traditions as well as the high expectations of the School constituency.

Mission

In the realm of moral growth and development, the BHS Cultural Society strives to maintain the basic traditions and spirit, which characterised the operation of the School for over a century.
